How to book a course

When a completed Needs Analysis and Booking Form have been received by Lancaster Languages, an invoice will be issued. Receipt of the deposit will serve as confirmation of the course booking.

Conditions for cancelling or changing a course by the student

 

  •  If Lancaster Languages receives the cancellation before the course starting date, Lancaster Languages willretain a percentage of the total course price, according to the following scale:
    More than 28 days – 15% deposit
    28 – 8 days – 40% of total price
    7 days or less  – 100% of total price
  • Refunds cannot be made for non-attendance, absence due to illness or any other causes.
  • Any refund due when a course is changed or cancelled will be paid to the person who paid for the course, at the end of the booked course. 
  • In all instances, notification of cancellation must be made in writing to Lancaster Languages and will be effective on the date received by the school.

Change or cancellation of a course by Lancaster Languages

  • Lancaster Languages reserves the right to cancel a course, or make changes to course arrangements, without liability, if forced to do so for reasons beyond its control*. If this happened, Lancaster Languages would seek to offer alternative arrangements, dates or venues acceptable to the student; or refund any fees already paid minus the 15% deposit.

    *We are unable to accept liability or pay compensation where the performance of our contractual obligation is prevented or affected by reason of circumstances amounting to “force majeure” i.e. any event which we or the suppliers of the service(s) could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include, but not be limited to, war, riots, actual or threatened terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather, fire, flood, drought, government action, airport and port regulations and closures, scheduling of transport and similar events outside our control.

  • If Lancaster Languages cancelled a course, booked and paid for in accordance with these terms, other than for reasons beyond its control, and did not offer alternative arrangements, dates or venues acceptable to the student, Lancaster Languages would refund any fees paid in full.
Please read these Terms & Conditions before booking a course. They are binding on all students, regardless of whether the booking has been made directly or through an educational consultant. If anything is not clear, please contact Lancaster Languages.

Liability and Insurance

Students must ensure that they organise their own travel insurance including cover for medical costs and repatriation costs in the case of illness or accident.

Lancaster Languages acts only as an intermediary between its students and host families or other accommodation providers. Unless, and to the extent caused by Lancaster Languages’ negligence, Lancaster Languages cannot be held responsible for any delay or accident during a journey nor for any incident which may happen during the student’s stay.

Lancaster Languages will be liable to the student undertaking a course for injury to persons or loss or damage to property only where and to the extent that it has been negligent but otherwise will be under no liability to them whatsoever.

Lancaster Languages reserves the right not to allow a student to begin or continue a course if Lancaster Languages learns that he or she is suffering from any illness, medical condition, or mental or physical disability that has an impact on their ability to complete the course, and which has not been disclosed on the Needs Analysis.

This document, issued by Lancaster Languages, gives the only terms and information that can be referred to in the event of a disagreement between the student and Lancaster Languages. These terms and conditions are governed by English law and do not affect your statutory rights under English law.

Personal Information and Photographs

We use the personal information given to us to fulfil our contract. It may also be used to ensure compliance with UK law or for internal training. Please see our Privacy Policy for further information.

Lancaster Languages reserves the right to use photographs, audio and video recordings taken during courses to illustrate its promotional material. If a student wishes that their photographs or recordings should not be used in this material, they should write to Lancaster Languages within one month of the course ending.
